Gerd Butzeck will hold many meetings at the Women’s World Championship
Today, on 26 November 2025, the 27th Women’s IHF World Championship throws off in Germany and the Netherlands. 32 teams from four continents have qualified for this event – therefore, the five hosting cities of Rotterdam, s’Hertogenbosch (both Netherlands), Stuttgart, Trier and Dortmund (all Germany) will be a melting pot for the global handball family. Gerd Butzeck, candidate to become IHF President at the IHF Congress in December, will travel to almost all venues to talk with the key figures and officials of the participating nations, but also wants to get inspired by the fans from all over the world.
“It is great to have the Women’s World Championship in Germany and the Netherlands. I want to see as many matches as possible, and I hope that a huge variety of continents and nations will have an impact on this event”, says Butzeck.
