Gerd Butzeck as guest in “Handball de Primera”

As the interview is in Spanish and German, these are the core statements:

  • “There is a good chance to win the election, as the support for the reigning President Hassan Moustafa is declining. This is, what I was told in many personal or zoom talks with handball representatives from all over the world.”
  • “In South and Central America many federations hope for a change in the IHF, as there is a big opposition against Hassan Moustafa.”
  • “If I will be elected, the IHF will spend the revenues for many more projects to develop handball globally.”
  • “I stand for an age limit of IHF Executive members and a limit of three terms of office per position, according to the specifications and regulations of the IOC.”
  • “Beach Handball and a new discipline called Urban Handball are ideal to promote handball and create opportunities to play handball in Central and South America countries, as the number of halls for indoor handball is not that high. When I will be elected, we will immediately establish a working group for Urban Handball.”
